The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting to be held Sunday, December 14, 2025 This event, which unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. Starting in New Zealand, candles are lit at 7:00 PM local time. As candles burn down in one time zone, they are lit in the next, creating a virtual 24-hour wave of light as the observance continues around the world. Our local TCF Charlotte chapter will participate in this remembrance event on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the small chapel at St. Matthews Church. Candles will be lit shortly after 7:00 p.m. local time. The candle lighting will be followed by a potluck dinner in the Social Hall at St. Matthews. We encourage you to invite family and friends, bring a dish, side or dessert to share and bring a photo of your child, grandchild or sibling. We hope you will join us for this evening filled with love, remembrance and friendship as hundreds of thousands of people around the world commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon.
